Accessibility statement
ESX is meant to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities and people using assistive technology. This page states what we build to, what we checked and when, what is not yet accessible, and how to reach us.
Standard and conformance level
Legal basis: the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility Adjustments to Service) Regulations, 5773-2013, regulation 35 (internet services).
ESX aims to conform to Israeli Standard IS 5568 (Web Content Accessibility), which adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at level AA. Where it costs nothing extra we also build to WCAG 2.1 level AA.
Status: the pages listed below were checked by us and passed the automated checks with no violations. No independent third-party accessibility audit has been carried out yet, so we describe the site as built to level AA, not as certified.
What was checked, and when
Last review: 21 October 2026.
- Automated testing with axe-core against WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 levels A and AA, in Hebrew and in English, on: home, search, sign-in, registration, password recovery, basket, About, How it works, FAQ, For suppliers, Contact, Privacy, Terms of Use and this page.
- Keyboard-only review of the page header, language switcher, menus and forms: tab order, visible focus, a skip link to the main content, and no keyboard traps.
- Colour contrast of text of at least 4.5:1 against its background, in the shared colour palette.
- Language and direction: every page declares its language (Hebrew or English) and its direction (right-to-left or left-to-right).
What is in place
- A skip-to-content link, the first item reached with the Tab key.
- A visible focus outline on every interactive element.
- Form fields are tied to their labels so assistive technology announces them.
- Meaningful text alternatives on informational images; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Links inside running text are underlined, so they do not depend on colour alone.
Adjustments made are listed above under "What is in place". Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move, Enter or Space to activate, Escape to close a menu, and the browser zoom (Ctrl and +) to enlarge text; the layout reflows without horizontal scrolling.
Known limitations
The following are not yet accessible. Where an alternative exists it is named; to get any of this information in another form, contact us (below).
- The interactive 3D model viewer on item pages is not operable with a keyboard or a screen reader. Alternative: the parameter table and the technical drawing on the same page carry the dimensions.
- Technical drawings and data-sheet PDFs are generated as drawings and may not be readable by a screen reader. Alternative: the parameter table on the item page lists the same values with their tolerances.
- Borders of form fields and some icon buttons have a lower contrast than the 3:1 that WCAG 2.1 asks of interface components (this is a WCAG 2.1 requirement, not WCAG 2.0).
- The signed-in areas (dashboard, seller and admin tools, inbox, checkout) were not part of this review.
- Testing so far is automated plus keyboard; review with screen-reader software (NVDA, VoiceOver) has not yet been done, so some problems that automated tools cannot detect may remain.
